Did you know that Yahoo somehow found a "similar" question titled "What is the relationship between 911 and Sadam?" (this is me rolling my eyes)

Anyhow I bought a BIG turkey yesterday, 88 cents a lb which is an amazing price in Canada AND a pumpkin cheesecake, both of which are residing in the freezer for now.

Getting all hungry and excited thinking about turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin cheesecake, yams, brussel sprouts, a good white wine, peas and carrots, mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, hmmmmmmmm

I am having my kids and their partners over, hopefully the little guy, and one of the kids friends, only one at this point in time.

AND my daughter is getting married on the 6th but they arent leaving on the honeymoon until some time in November. Its going be a very busy weekend.

Don't SAY the words "pumpkin cheesecake" so loudly that my family hears. I made this one year, with a gingerbread crust, and they actually FOUGHT over it! I haven't made one since.

My father died on Thanksgiving Day two years ago. He was happy to go, so we don't feel sad for long about it...we just remember him before we dig into the goodies.

I have promised my daughters that I will make homemade perogies this year. I make them with extra-old cheddar cheese and finely diced sauteed onions in the mashed potatoe filling. (I had some really good ones at the CNE this year that had been baked--I boil mine.)

And Thanksgiving is not the same without rutabaga mash. I just love the stuff with real butter and lots of black pepper.

I sure wish I could get a turkey for 88 cents a lb here in Ontario. The cheapest I have seen was $1.49 per lb. And it takes a rather large one to feed seven people who are pigs over turkey!

You have a good holiday. Do you know...it has just dawned on me that your daughter is getting married on the same date as my niece did in 2005? It turned out to be a glorious day for her here...but then we haven't had the snow that you guys have had in the Rockies.

I wondered where you had got to! You are going to be busy with a wedding eh? That pumpkin cheesecake sounds like a good idea. Last year was so hot at Thanksgiving I hated to put the oven on but you can't go wrong with turkey. It goes a long way and I love the leftovers, especially the stuffing!

I had to check my calendar before I realized you live in Canada. lol It's always on Thursday here in the USA and is on Nov.22 this year. It sounds like you are having a scrumptious feast, yum!

My family lives far apart and we never know when we'll get to be together for the holidays. Have a wonderful time with all your loved ones. My best to the bride and groom.

Yes, Thanksgiving in Canada is the same weekend as Columbus Day in the states.

I think I had read it somewhere, but thanks for the reminder. We'll be out of town at my hubby's 50th high school class reunion.

Sounds like you'll be surrounded by loved ones and lots of good food.

I envy you. I have to be careful about what (and how much) I eat for a while. The tests showed hiatal hernia and reflux.
