Limewire is open program where you can download any files (video,movies, book, program etc)
Itunes is closed program (owned by apple) for maintaining copyright and other restriction of music and movie files.

Limewire is a peer to peer (P2P) file sharing program in which you copy files from other peoples computers for free. The sharing of copyrighted material this way is illegal.
iTune is a media player and download program which only downloads music from the iTune site. While there is a small fee for most items, it is all legal.

Limewire is free, everything you download from it but is all illegal downloads. Itunes supposibly guarantees you no spyware or trash to be downloaded through their server. And its legal.
