I have been bloated for around 2 or 3 months, it varies in size throughout the day but i wake up bloated (a little) and go to bed bloated (usually very badly). people have commented that I look 4-5 months pregnant. my periods have also changed, ive had them 8 years and theyve always been very heavy. last month i was spotting with 7 days of brown discharge, this month was heavy and bright red followed with about an hours worth of spotting brown discharge.
my doctor told me it was IBS but I have not been constipated or had diarrhoea so I dont fully agree with this.

however, last week I had a bad 'stitch' feeling under my left rib for 3 hours..

can anybody relate to this or have any idea what this could be? ive taken 5 pregnancy tests that have all came back negative.

Family Doctor's Experience:

these are general details, more specific details are needed, like what did you eat when it happened, it is constant like everyday, ask the doctor why he/she thinks it is Irritable Bowel Syndrome.........because you can go to a specialized doctor where they take a camera into your digestive system (below stomach of course) and see if there are any internal problems

You have an enlarging abdomen , no bowel abnormality or changes but with an irregular menses with a negative pregnance test, however you didn't mentioned your age now and when was the pregnancy test taken in relation to your the first day of your last menstruation.
Given limited informations, I will think first of ruling out a possible gynecologic problem like disease of the ovary or uterus. Why? Because your symptoms are more pointing to a gynecologic case.
Seek a gynecologist consultation in your neighborhood.

I can think of a lot of things it could be, including IBS, so I would get a second opinion, maybe try your gyno instead of your GP? It could be ovarian cysts or an ovarian mass or fibroids. It could also be appedicitis or something in your abdomen, especially given the stich on your left side.

Have you tried an ultrasound or stool sample? This could be serious, or it could be just a bacterial infection gone wild. (I know this isn't entirely helpful, but I'm throwing somethings out there for you to investigate other that IBS).

well the bloating could be gas, since it gets worse at night. have you changed your eating style, like from crappy to healthy or vic virsa? try some yogurt or activia this has active enzymes that keep our digestive tracts clean and healthy.
the period thing could be that your body is changing chemically and so hormones are different. its a scientific fact that our bodies change chemically every 7 years. so with you being ing the 8th year of menstrual cycles that would make sense.
i agree on your ibs statement it cant be but it could be a metabolism change in your body, a slowing of food processing.
the stitch well you could have pulled something or tuned funny and that's all it takes sometimes.

i think your getting older and are noticing changes in your body.

Go to a different doctor! None of this should be ignored and IBS does not cause a vaginal discharge!!!!

If you have taken tests I doubt you are pregnant, but I think you should go back to your doctor, something definitly isn't right.
