That's too bad, you are missing out. However, it is good you tried. I do find that some people are natural readers and some just aren't. I think it is because they are concentrating too hard on actual reading and the actual letters on the page(like thinking about it too much) rather than just getting lost in the story.
Anyways, I LOVE to read, not boring to me!

If you were sitting right next to me, I think I would have slapped you... Just kidding.
It's okay if you don't like reading, For some people, it's not their cup of tea. Just like how some people enjoy doing sports while others don't.
And maybe it's not that you don't like reading, you just haven't found the right genre for you. I know when I was younger, I hated reading since all the books I read were school assigned. But than I found mystery and fantasy books and now I love reading.

Maybe you've had some bad teachers. Imagine the stuff you're reading as a movie in your head. The best part is that when you see a movie made out of a book you've read, the movie in your head is always 100% better!

either you are reading a story that's not right for you or you just can't read! some people don't know how to comprehend (they end up reading a whole page and not even remembering what they just read) let loose and don't think about anything but the story that's going on... and look for a book that suits you!

It could be the topic or genre you are reading. Read about things that fascinate you. I love reading anything historical (I am even into historical fiction) and mystery but that is what floats my boat!

like many other people said, try a different genre. i like romantic comedies and some mystery or suspense. here are some different genres to try:
first se wheather you like fiction or non-fiction:then there's mystery
thriller
suspence
romance
drama
comedy
poetry
science fiction
fantasy
horror
graphic novels
westerns
and a ton more (mainly for non-fiction)
but if you go to barnesandnoble.com you can look under browse books and find more genres.

If you don't find yourself enveloped into a good book then your just not reading the right kind of book for you, or you may be reading the right kind of book, but your probably too stubborn to let yourself open up to it :)

You just need to find the right book to peak your interest. Maybe later in life when you're an adult you will find books more interesting. Personally, I would go crazy without music and books.

Why would someone be in the books and authors section saying that they didn't find reading exciting?
