Sometimes it's best to let these nutjobs speak, so folks can see how dangerous they really are.

I thought that was rather funny. The whole bit about homosexuality not existing in Iran.Yet they have arrested and even put people to death for "not existing".lol You're right though.I doubt more then 1% of anyone listening to his speech bought any of it.

Didn't hear anything new.
Just got a chance to hear the Columbia prof. rant.
This was a shameless way for Columbia to get some PR.
The result is that Ahma dinnah Jacket's stock just went up in Iran.

Didn't watch the speech, but in my view that's what democracy is- allowing people to speak, regardless of how deeply offensive and unacceptable that person's views may be. I have no respect for him whatsoever, but I still feel that allowing him to speak, thereby enabling people to reach their own conclusions, is a better option than not allowing him to speak, which seems to me based on the highly pessimistic assumption that many people will come around to his point of view if that happens.

I was in favor of letting him to Ground Zero. Let's face it, the man was going to get positive press from his media no matter what he did. We had absolutely nothing to lose letting the man speak and we had much to gain if he went too far in any direction.
Of course it is insulting to have him on our soil at all, but since we have to let him let's get the most out of it that we can. So I find myself agreeing with you both a priori and in retrospect.

Exactly... today reminded me of the 50's when everyone thought Rock and Roll was devil music perverting the souls of our youth! I had hoped we had matured a little as a society since then.. I guess not.

Although, I was hoping we would try to go to ground zero and the police wouldn't let him, and he would fight and struggle and they would taze him. I love a good tazer video, and watching this loon get tazed would be the best.

Hard to exist when you kill those who practice it and considering it is a trait of heredity if you prevent the homosexual gene from being spread by killing them eventually they would eliminate that trait .
It is a mortal sin to practice homosexuality .

Good point. I figured if he just kept talking he would say something to ruin his credibility. Glad it was such a doozie. ;-)
