I was talking to the nurse about how I found out I was pregnant and how long it took after I got off the birth control pill (it took 9 mths). She said that it should have been out of my system by then. I was to busy looking at my baby on the screen that I forgot to ask if that was bad that it took so long. Can anyone on here tell me if that was bad or not that it took so long after i got off of the pill?

No it's not bad. Some people it can take longer, it depends on your body. There could have been other potential reasons you didn't get pregnant right away. Don't let her words discourage you. You ARE pregnant no matter how long it took! Most specialists and doctors say not to worry until you've hit the 1 year mark for trying...then start figuring out what could be the problem. But in your case, I wouldn't worry! Congrats!!! :)

Just because it took you nine months to get pregnant doesn't mean that the pill was still in your system all that time. Some people get pregnant right away when they stop the pill and it takes others longer. It is perfectly normal, I wouldn't worry about it. It took my sister about 6 months to get pregnant after the pill and only took me one month. Everyone is different.

That's not bad! Most couples have only a 20-25% chance of hitting the nail on the head with ovulation predictors, etc. So it took you 9 months. It didn't take you years with medical intervention.

Congratulations!

That's not bad. That's great that you were able to get pregnant in 9 months! It took me 4-1/2 years and I had to have fertility treatment to conceive.

I don't think that it took too long. I've heard of women trying for years after going off the pill. I think you're just fine.
