Induction has risks, I know you are sick to death of carrying this child but really, you don't want the

a. Extreme contractions that go with inductions, very hard to handle.

b. Double the risk of having a section with all that entails.

The doctor will induce you if the baby is in distress. This baby WILL come, I promise!

Good luck!

I'm surprised he hasn't induced you yet. There have been complications reported of mothers that wait past the 40 week mark in terms of waiting for the baby to come naturally. This is just what I've read about BTW, so don't hold me on it. Speaking from personal experience as far as induction, just ask the doctor. 99% of the time they are understanding and if the case is that he miscalculated, he should be for it considering the baby's larger than what he thought. Induction is not bad. Just let him know!

I would just tell your concerns to your doctor. I kept asking my doctor when I was going to be induced if he didn't come on time...she said she wouldn't let me go 11 days overdue. The reason I was asking was because they estimated my baby at 36 weeks pregnant to be almost 8 pounds. I think she knew I was really uncomfortable. She set a date for me to be induced ( I was only going to be 5 days overdue) but I ended up going into labor on my own..2 days before being induced. My point is that if you keep asking they should schedule a day for you to be induced...don't lose hope because you may go into labor on your own just like I did. Good Luck with everything and congrats on your baby!

Good Luck getting a Dr. to Induce you these days. My due date was March 13th & I did not have my daughter until April 30th. I was told as long as there were no complications that he would not induce me, So I had to play the waiting game. the only good outcome was that I was only in labor for about 11 minutes before she was born!

you can always trying begging and crying, but in the end, if you have a tough DR. you'll just have to wait. Rest assured the baby WILL come out eventually and there will be times you'll wish you could put it back! Try to enjoy these last days- you're only pregnant for so long in your life and it IS a miracle! Remember everything about it for the future when you are done having babies! And good luck with your delivery and best wishes for a healthy, wonderful baby!

Doesn't sound like you have a very good Dr. if you are already overdue and the baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger. I would ask him why he hasn't induced you. And I hope you don't have to have it naturally. Best of luck to you!

just tell him you want to be induced. it's your body, your child, and in the end, your choice.
