postpartum check up and bleeding...?

i had postpartum check up 3days ago and thy did a pelvic exam (no papsmear) and just nextday i started bleeding....it is very mild though...everytime i urinate and whn i wipe i saw some blood in the tissue..and hardly sometime in the urine ....now it is almost 3days and i m still have same..i called ob nurse and thy said it ill take a day or 2 to stop and its is almost 3days and i am not able to figure out is it bcos of pelvic exam or is it mine period.....idid had mine urine chk and there is no infection and i regularly breastfeed mine baby...which now 1 1/2 mon old......i read somewhere until baby is wean we cannot get period....do somebody had same experience ...? i m very confuse.....pls help

It could be your period, or it could just be bleeding from the exam. I breastfed my son for 14 months and I got my period back when he was about 3 months old. He was strictly breastfed until I started him on solids around 6 months too, so it isn't always true that you don't get your period until you wean the baby.

It is very common to have blood after a pelvic exam especially 6 weeks after birth. It is true that you will probably not have a period until you wean your child, but I hope you are also aware that you can still get pregnant without a period while you are nursing! Use birth control. Back to the slight bleeding, it will go away. Some woman are still having blood without an exam 6 weeks after giving birth. I wouldn't worry about it.

i nursed for 7 months, my period returned the 2nd month andd not againg until the 6 month. careful you can get prego again. i have a 9 month old and 2 months prego
