Will is right. The earth continues to spin due to conservation of angular momentum. It has nothing to do with molten core or gravity.
Now, there is no friction with earth's atmosphere, but there is friction with the tides. There is a small contribution from crustal tides, but most of the friction is from earth's oceans. If there were no moon (which is receding about 2.4 cm per year due to this same effect), there would be essentially nothing to slow earth's rotation.

Because it doesn't meet anything to stop it from spinning. In space, things keep moving until they meet an object or force to change their movement.

The earth is slowing due to friction from things like the atmosphere, tides and space dust plus other effects.

It has to do with the molten core and how it interacts with the rest of inner earth...if the molten core would cool then the earth would stop spinning and we'd loose the electrical field that keeps our atmosphere in place...we'd be a dead rock pretty quik...it's not gravity or an object in motion stays in motion...give me a freakin break...go back to physics class..lol

The earth is tilted at a precise 23.5 degree angle. This combined with the earth's central gravity is constantly pulling the earth round.
