I live in MD and my ex lives in Guam.

My son is 2 years old & has his fathers last name. His father is no longer in the picture. He was abusive and a liar and I gave him chance after chance and he ended up abandoning us.

I tried filing for child support and they said guam does NOT have an agreement with the US so I can't file for child support. (That is so unfair)

Money doesnt mean a thing to me all I want is to have my sons last name changed to mine and have soul custody.

I'm thinking i'll just run into the same probs of the non agreement between guam and the US so I wont be able to change his name or file for custody...? If the law wont help me do you have any other suggestions?

To the people who are going to say that i'm in the wrong and it's better for a child to have both parents... I'm sorry but you dont know my ex.

I just need help on what I can do to break free of all ties and continue raising my son on my own.

Thank you for any help

Him living in another country does not stop being able to file for child support. It just states the amounts that are to be given. It adds up if not paid. My wifes ex "disappeared" for 17 years but still owes back support. Get an attorney and file for the custody and name change.
