Good question! The rest of the world standards are none of our business, as they have not come here to try and change ours. If Ahmadinejad wants to be an ignorant fool about social issues, like gays, than it's not our business. He is obviously not a threat. They are not a western society, and we are not middle eastern.
You don't see anyone trying to change Saudi Arabia, and they are very strict on their people, especially women.
It is sad to see people want to invade another country, based on the hate for their dictator. Seems to me there are more horrible things in the world, and starving homeless children that should be our first priority. What are we, high school drama queens, wanting to hurt the person who isn't in the same click?

No - and the worst type of logic I have ever heard is a comparison between a persons nation and another - saying well it is worse in land X so stop complaining
The goal of not being the worst is not one I would like to embrace -
The idea of "it could never happen here" as is often said by Canadians scare me - It is exactly that attitude that allows "it" to happen here. In the 70's Trudeau called us understandably naive when we all taken back by a terrorist orginization in Canada -
It did happen here -
But and here is the big but -
We did not go nuts we did not go looking for FLQ members all over the world we did not build camps and create a Homeland security or anything else -
We took temporary measures and we stopped
Trudeau was afraid of what could be born out of terror and how our reaction as a nation - could set us down a path of hate intolerance and seperation from our fellow Canadians
By not becomeing intolerant by not becomeing militant and openly hateful - By not going nuts
The "self styled revolutionary's " lost -
"I promise you that the government will ensure that the laws are respected and that those laws that we shall pass will be worthy of respect" PET Oct 1970
Do not aim at being better than the worst guy in the line up - but rather being a truly "just society" the best in the line up

We don've have the highest murder rate in the world. We give our poor welfare, these are people who don't want to work in many cases, yet we still feed them, and still give them health care although they don't provide to our society. Well when you are the strongest in the world, any nation you are at war with will be weaker. Stolen elections, back your standard left talking points. Been listening to Air America much? Ill treatment of women and minorities? Did you know that minorities in our country make more money than minorities in almost every other country in the world?

When an American travels to another country they are taught to observe the customs and laws of that nation. When an immigrant comes to America they feel we should accommodate their customs. Well it doesn't work that way. Our laws are for the citizens of this country and all I mean ALL visitors. And about your points
1) wrong! Iraq has the most murders every year since 2003 and not by the hand of our military, by the hands of the murdering muslims
2) let's look a Saudi Arabia for that honor. There is where the greatest separation of income in the world is. Royals make billions per person per year versus some making less than 100 dollars a year.
3) No one else has been attacked. We fought back. Ohh that's right we are supposed to turn the other cheek like Monica's boyfriend did with the attacks on the WTC and the USS Cole and multiple other attacks. Well, sorry the other cheek has already been slapped. We ran out of cheeks.
4) This has not happened yet. We will not allow Gorf or Kerry to steal by any means. Hillary still has her chance though.
5) Your "Demon"mocracy is broken. Their communist views are starting to show. When will you libs really state your true party affiliation? Communist!
6) Look in the mirror muslim lover. You don't allow your women any freedoms. It is illegal for women to drive in Saudi Arabia. How does that measure up to your criticism now commy?

I hear what you are trying to say here, but I just looked up statistics for highest murder rate and It was not USA. It was Honduras and South Africa. On one list we were 24th. I just recently went to visit Guatemala, this country is facing a much more corrupt govt. situation then we are here and the poor are treated very!! unfairly. Not to say that we have nothing to do with it. America has alot of problems....yet I think we do need to count our blessings here as well. I do not feel that we have the right to go in to another country and force our views upon them. Especially the situation in Iraq. I feel we should take our resources and make more organizations such as Peace Corp etc... to help empower the defenseless...everywhere in the world

First our poor are some of the healthiest in the world, our minorities have some of the best chances to get free college unlike those of us who work hard for a living and our women are treated better than most other nations especially those in the middle east. Our standards are better than rest of the worlds, perhaps they should adopt ours.

Wait a minute Humanist...We DO NOT have the highest murder rate in the world. Also, compared to other countries we have it good. You haven't seen poor until you go to Africa or southeastern countries in Asia.. I agree with everything else though.

If something is done right and naturally then no force is involved. The problems you speak of are negative. That being said if the problem exist where help is needed then by understanding these problems the help[ will helpfully flow easier. Then again here eat this food wouldn't seem to be that complex.

Follow the swinging watch and repeat after me.....'must follow shrub, must follow shrub'..........
In this administration's deluded opinion of itself, everyone wants to be us, so why not channel Star Trek's Borg and assimilate everyone else. Invade and make them satillite governments handled by the GOP, and in Bush's image. Once they are 'just like us' they will be happy.........in a parallel universe.
