Ask your doctor for baby vitamins, or they might be sold over the counter now. They are liquid and better than nothing.
Don't panic about nutrition-drink your Ensure or whatever and don't worry about it. MANY women keep nothing down for weeks and still have healthy babies.
I sure hope your broken jaw is from a car wreck or something. If a man is involved please get out now.
Stay well and good luck!

There might be some kind of liquid vitamin you can take I would go to the local pharmacy in your area and they probably be able to help you. I'm not sure what execatly they do when they wire your jaw shut meaning I don't know how far you can actually open your mouth but if you can open it a little maybe try 2 flinstone vitamins the chewable ones I know you cant chew but thay actually dissolve. and apparently 2 is equivilant to 1 prenatal vitamin.

Don't panic. I'm sure you're seeing a doctor. Ask him/her for advice. They can do all sorts of things now-a-days for you. You should be drinking something that is already fortified with extra vitamins and minerals. If not, go ahead and start with a dietary drink with extra added ingredients such as Ensure. There are plenty of good liquid nutritional supplements available at Wal-Mart and Target, not to mention what your doctor can prescibe in neccessary.
ETA: I know everyone on here freaks out about prenatal vitamins, but it will be ok. Most of my friends, myself included, couldn't take prenatal vitamins without throwing up in the first trimester. They all had healthy babies, and my pregnancy looks good. Do what you can and seek medical help. They won't let your baby go without.

first of all congratulations! 2nd- sorry about the jaw! rest assured that your baby won't suffer! There are women all over the world now and for millions of years who have had healthy babies without proper nutrition OR vitamins. The fetus takes what it needs from YOU- so you may suffer nutritionally, but the baby won't! You'll catch up when you can eat better again- for now just do the best you can! Good luck!

Any vitamin that has 400mg or more of folic acid will work. You could ask your doctor for a recommendation.
In the first few weeks the embryo will actually get most of its nutrition from its own egg sac. After that it will only need a little from you, a nuturitionally balanced diet is all you need. Perhaps try smoothies with fresh fruit and yogurt and protein powder.

Ask your doctor if there are any liquid pre-natals. Eat what you can. The baby will get all of it's needs from fat stores in your body if it's missing something. Hopefully you'll be able to eat solids by the start of the 2end trimester. And if your jaw was broken due to violence from the father, please seek help.

You need to get a food processor. Puree veggies, fruit, whole grains, etc. and drink it. If you put alot of fruit in it, you won't taste everything else. Besides, your tastebuds are much less important than the health of your baby!

i would get Boost with protein or Ensure with protein (Boost tastes better to me, though), they are usually for old people, but it would help you, too. sorry to hear about your jaw, i know that has to hurt:(
