There is no way to answer this question. We do not know where you live or how large your place is or what type of heat you have.

A 750 Sq Feet apartment in La doesn't compare with a 2,000 sq. Feet apartment in NYC.

Call different companies and compare prices.

It shouldn't take much to heat a one bedroom apartment but it really depends on if it has good insulation or not. It also depends on where you live and who the gas supply company is. They all vary in pricing. Of course the price of gas also goes up in the colder months....to the advantage of the utility company. You can still temporarily seal the windows with clear tape. This amazingly does keep out drafts of air on older windows but still allows you to open them in case of an emergency.

Here are a few tips to get ready for winter.Cover your windows up with a thick blanket,it keeps the wind from blowing the cold air in the room.I would say put plastic over the windows but then it would be hard to get out in case of a fire.Turn off the lights at night and put up some Christmas lights around the top of the ceiling and get florescent bulbs .

It depends on several things: The company providing the gas, how well insulated your apartment is, and how warm you keep it.

Would it be possible for you or your landlord to replace the windows with something that is energy-efficient? That will lower your bill in any case.

Good luck!
