Ok - so I think what you are really saying is how to I add fractions. To do this - find the LCM for all the fractions. Let's show you --
9 1/2
29 3/8
13 5/8
22 1/4
14 3/8
So you have 1/2, 3/8, 5/8, 1/4, and 3/8 as your fractions. If you look closely, you will see that 8 is the LCM. So do your setup like this:
9 1/2 = 9 4/8
29 3/8 =29 3/8
13 5/8 = 13 5/8
22 1/4 = 22 2/8
14 3/8 = 14 3/8
Now you can add them easily. 9+29+13+22+14 =87; 4+3+5+2+3=17
So 87 17/8 which is the same as 89 1/8. (17/8 = 2 1/8)
Hope this helps.

14 3/8
9 + 29 + 13 + 22 + 14 = 87
(4 + 3 + 5 + 2 + 3)/8 = 17/8 = 2 1/8
Total = 89 1/8 pounds

First you have to get common denominators:
9-1/2 = 9-4/8
29-3/8 = 29-3/8
13-5/8 = 13-5/8
22-1/4 = 22-2/8
14-3/8=14-3/8
Now add all together and you get 87-17/8 which equals
89-1/8

First convert to 'Improper'(Top heavy) fractions.
19/2 + 235/8 + 109/8 + 89/4 + 115/8
Next bring everything to a common denominator, in this case '8'
76/8 + 235/8 +109/8 + 178/8 + 115/8
Next add the numerators(top numbers) together.
713/8
Finally convert back to a mixed fraction by dividing by '8'.
89 remainder 1 = 89 1/8 pounds.
