Was lied to about what the timeshare can do. Problem is I bought it over a year ago and have NEVER used it, never. Is there anything I can do to recoup at least part of my money?

i was told the amount of points i was purchasing would get me 14 days in a 2 br wherever, every year. turns out it barely good enough for 3 days in vegas. not only that but there is never time available no matter where im trying to go.

There are soooooo many loopholes and pitfalls in that TimeShare thing, and you are forced to put way too much trust in people you have no means to check out, I personally wouldn't touch that Time Share with a fifty foot pole.

I don't know exactly what you got yourself into with yours, but my advice is to get yourself out of it as fast as possible, with as little loss as possible. To do that you might need to consult a financial adviser who is the kind of person who'd have his finger on the pulse of this particular market.

I donated mine to a charity, and wrote off the 50% of the purchase price on my taxes. I had owned it for 10 years so only took 50% to account for depreciation. Check with an accountant.

If you have the lie in writing you shodl contact a lawyer. If the sales person is no longer with the organization you might be able to use their testimony. Other than that, you are stuck.

That the way I see it!
