She may have eaten the fruit but she didn't run away and hide like Adam did. Just another example of the courage of women.
We hear the opinion often expressed, that woman always has, and always will be in subjection. Neither assertion is true. She enjoyed unlimited individual freedom for many centuries, and the events of the present day all point to her speedy emancipation. Scientists now give 85,000 years for the growth of the race. They assign 60,000 to savagism, 20,000 to barbarism, and 5,000 to civilization. Recent historians tell us that for centuries woman reigned supreme. That period was called the Matriarchate. Then man seized the reins of government, and we are now under the Patriarchate. But we see on all sides new forces gathering, and woman is already abreast with man in art, science, literature, and government. The next dynasty, in which both will reign as equals, will be the Amphiarchate, which is close at hand.

1. She was tempted and decieved by satan which could of happened to Adam or anybody, look at the world.
2. Satan was a male and seduced her since she is a female just as a woman can seduce a man.
3. Maybe she was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
4. It might have been destined to happen.

As written by men, it was a serpent. However many of us think women were blamed cause we lured men into sex, the forbidden fruit!!!!!

Actually I prefer to think of Lilith as the first woman.

Actually, in Milton's "Paradise Lost," Eve is portrayed as the more intelligent of the two, because, unlike Adam, she can think for herself. She doesn't just give all her power over to God. In fact, Adam will follow anyone--he makes no decisions for himself. He's either listening to God or he's listening to Eve.

Anyway, the story of Adam and Eve has been hanging around for centuries, and for centuries, men have been interpreting it to mean women are somehow mentally and morally inferior. The religious fanatics have always manipulated certain passages in the bible to justify their complete sexism and misogyny. I'm tired of it.

So by eating the forbidden fruit, Eve and Adam started having sex and babies and self-determination.

If this story is allegorical, then what did she really do wrong?

Isn't satan male? Well there you go - just another typical relationship where the man takes advantage - then blames her throughout eternity.

At least we succumbed (sp?) to the greatest evil. Adam succumbed to us!

I guess that means that men are more easily lured.

No, I think she just got tired of Adam asking what's for dinner all the time and picked the fruit and said "Here eat this"

she was told it was ok to eat it by one of god's creations AFTER she was told not to eat it. funny, without the knowledge of good/evil, right /wrong, how could she have known it was "bad" to listen to the serpent? by the way, there's no mention of the serpent being satan, that's assumed.

Because she is human. Both men and women are equally vulnerable to temptation....it is one of the reasons that both cheat on their spouses.
