My lava lamp has been in storage for 3 or 4 years. It ended up laying on its side most of the time and may have been frozen at 1 point. There is also a bit of oily liquid around the cap. The water is cloudy and the lava stuff just looks like a big motionless wad sittin at the top. Is it possible for me to make the water clear again or get the lava movin like it should?

I'm not sure if you can fix it. Our lava lamps have been in storage as well, and when we took them out, the oil was all blotchy and the wax (the lava bubbles) was crusty and everywhere. If you take the cap off the top, you should see a metal cap (in the instruction book it said not to take this off), you might be able to fix it by taking it off and replacing the oil and wax (but I'm not sure). I'm sorry that I couldn't have been more helpful, but good luck with your lava lamp ^_^

Throw it away and get a new one. They are cheap.

first of all the liquid is not water, but an oil, sounds like it needs to be tossed and get a new one,
