I personally think that if an asker posts a question, especially a controversial or emotionally charged one, or one asking another's opinion; then they should be prepared for any and all comers. If you ask a really stupid or very tacky question (and you know if you do....you meant to) then be prepared for the firestorm because that is what you were after, anyway. But then again, I am not a very popular answerer....wonder why? I think you should be able to report only those questions and/or answers that are truly repugnant, obscene, or offensive.

What was your question???
I think if someone has a question, then they should be able to ask it, no matter if it offends someone.
people need to grow up and realize that this world is not going to sugar coat itself for the people that want their hand held the whole time.

personally if i see a question i dont agree with and think get a life to i dont go ahead and type it as an answer
you got to remember whether you agree with the question or not they are still entitled to ask it
same as you are entitled to ask this one now and get fair reasonable and 'nice' answers as a response
and saying get a life to a question suggests you dont understand the question or dont agree with it so why would you bother wasting your time and theirs by "answering" it with such a useless comment?
you are not helping the person, you are not helping yourself
it doesnt answer their question and it doesnt make you feel better, obviously, because here you are still thinking about it and going so far as to ask people on yahoo answers why the person was bothered and why you were reported
if you are bothered by being reported is it not best to avoid saying something that would possibly be construed as reportable to someone?
ive had my share of get a life thoughts and what are you on asking that but i just dont 'answer ' the question
im answering yours however as i think it deserves an answer and im being nice and fair i could as easily say god what a stupid question
but i dont
i give you an answer
which you are entitled to get and entitled to get it without someone else making you feel bad about asking it
its all so easy for people to hide behind the mask of a computer and use it as an excuse to be mean, horrible, rude, blase, bulling and insulting but peoples feelings still get hurt because its still people on the other end of your response
if you dont want to get reported for abuse and bulling you dont abuse and bully people
and saying get a life, funny and justified as it sounds to you , is still abuse, someone still got hurt or affected by your saying it
if someone feels justified in asking a question you have no right to take that justification away from them simply because of your own prejudices, lack of interest or lack of knowledge about the subject
and its the right to ask these supposed stupid uninteresting questions, the feeling of justification in asking them that allows you to ask one of your own
and you equally have the right to fair answers without being made to feel c**p for asking or wanting to know the answwr
