I have a BSBM degree, a strong finance background and can't get a job in ops or finance--what am I qualified to do???

You are basically a well-educated administrator. There's lots of great administrators that don't have/need college degrees and with a few exceptions, they don't get paid well.

The problem with your major is it doesn't have a high-value skill attached to it. Accounting is a skill. Programming is a skill. Mathematics is a skill that needs to be applied to programming (as an example) for it to be valuable.

If you are just starting out, and don't know anyone in your industry that can get you a job, then chances are great you will have to start at the bottom and spend your spare time learning a valuable skill like accounting or programming. You don't need another degree, just some other skills.

Don't get too discouraged. The average person has to knock on a heck of a lot of doors and get shot down alot before something comes your way. Seeing this through to the end will only make you better.
