Is it time to start Brian Griese? I know grossman has his good games where he looks good, but when he plays bad, he is very gross. If not, will Grossman make it through the season as the starter?

He had a good game against the 49ers last year. In some of the playoff games he did not throw up spectacular numbers, but he did not turn the ball over as much and he managed the game well.

Of course Brian Griese not the solution for the future. But he may save the season like Jeff Garcia saved the Eagles last year. People forget Brian Griese did pretty well in Denver.

Ha The D, as far as next year they better hope Brian Brohm or some other good QB is still around in the draft. Then may be they can go get some WRs.

I think Griese should start. Grossman is lost. he has crapped down his pant leg to many time this year and they have only played 3 games. The Bears are in BIG trouble. Unless something magical happens Grossman is not getting signed after this year. Griese might be able to do enough to get this team to the playoffs this year but that's it. What are the Bears going to do next year at QB? That's a good question. I think Ill ask that.

Brian Griese is not the answer. Brian Griese is not the future for the Bears. However, Rex Grossman is very, very bad- every game and Lovie Smith needs to get with the program. This "Rex Grossman is our Quartback" speech is getting old. Does he even watch the same games that we do!? Grossman isn't the only problem the Bears have offensivley though... Moose needs to start earning that pay check and Benson needs to read the field better. In short, the offense MUST HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL. When you blow every opportunity that your defense gives you, you will not win football games. Please Lovie, stop the bleeding, and I don't mean use another band-aid! You need to fix the problems or that pretty new contract of yours will be floating in the lake. I love the Bears and that was one of the most painful displays I've seen in my life.

It should be time for Brian Griese to take over but I don't believe that it is Lovie Smith's decision anymore to make; Jerry Angelo is who I believe is making sure that Rex stays the starter. Rex is only 6'1" and the best throws he can make are five to eight yard outs because he can see the receivers better than just knowing where they are supposed to be and throwing up a blind shot. The Bears shouldn't have gotten rid of Thomas Jones because he and Benson were the reasons for the Bears only offensive success last season and now Benson looks ok but not what he should be at this point in his career he was supposed to come in and have the same production that he and Jones had together last season. If the Bears had any offense they would be 2-1 not 1-2 last night it wasn't all the offense's fault for the loss the D couldn't get off of the field the Cowboys had a 86 yard drive and a 91 yard drive in the second half. Not the same Bears team as last season, look for them to win the NFC North this season with the Packers a close second making the playoffs also, but my money is on the Bears losing to the Packers in the first round of the playoffs. The Cowboys are the new team to beat in the NFC Romo is going to be awesome this season...T.O. isn't that bad either.

I'm a Grossman fan and really want him to work out, but at this point we have to look somewhere else. We do not need a QB that can win games, we just need someone who will not lose us game. The sad thing is, we really arent any better with Griese in. Our offense is not clicking at all, O-line isnt blocking, WR arent getting open/dropping the ball, and our running game needs to move the rock better.
All in all, it's looking like it might be a long season.

no. i think u guys have to start building for the future. grossman isn't great but hes ok. i believe its partly the recievers fault too. a QB can improve tremdously if they have a good O-line and good recievers. grossman has below average recievers and an average O-line with a pretty bad run game which equals bad QB. by starting griese ur only thinking about now. the bears future will be a disater and they won't even be that much better even with griese. luckily im from philly and we have the best QB in Mcnabb!!! lol

I am not a bears fan but griese is not any better than grossman or even worse. Why didn't they go after Jeff Garcia or Daunte Cullpepper in the offseason.

I dont think they will be able to win the NFC north even with Griese. Griese is not the greatest quarterback and there are more problems with the bears then grossman.

Sexy Rexy has become Hexed Rex -- and the Chicago Bears aren't the only ones feeling vexed.
Las Vegas bookmakers share their pain.
The erstwhile Monsters of the Midway were 3 to 3 1/2-point favorites in their nationally-televised Sunday night game versus the rejuvenated Dallas Cowboys, a/k/a America's Team, but left the building at intermission after going into the break tied 3-3.
Chicago quarterback Rex Grossman blew up in the second half and threw three interceptions as Dallas (3-0)blew away the Bears 34-10 to stay undefeated under new Coach Wade Phillips.
The defending NFC champs dipped to 1-2.
Cowboys signal caller Tony Romo was 22 of 35 for 320 yards, while Grossman was 15 of 32 for 195 yards with the trio of interceptions.
"Everything we won in the morning and afternoon we lost at night," Robert Jaynes, the Stratosphere Tower's race and sports director, lamented.
"Dallas is a popular public team -- not that the Bears aren't, especially coming off a season in which they played in the Super Bowl.
"But they're still not the Cowboys.
"Dallas also has looked better so far this year."
Dallas parlays and teasers won big for players.
"It's a good thing Green Bay upset San Diego," Jaynes continued.
"That was a huge win for the house.
"We get a lot of people from California and they like to play the Chargers.
"If San Diego hadn't have lost, we would've ..."
The City with Big Shoulders is going to have to have some pretty broad ones if Chicago continues to tote the burden of Grossman around much longer.
The situation has gotten so bad that one TV commentator noted something to the effect that the former University of Florida star probably was booing himself on the inside.
The big breeze in the Windy City right now concerns what Chicago Coach Lovie Smith's next move regarding Grossman will be.
Surprisingly, as of Monday night, Bodog Sportsbook's clever oddsmaking crew hadn't yet posted a "What Will Happen to Rex Next?" proposition.
Stratosphere Tower Race and Sports Director Robert Jaynes looks for Lovie to stick with Grossman as he has in the past, rather than turn to Brian Griese, son of former Miami great Bob Bob.
"He'll ride it out with him, just as he's done before," Jaynes predicted.
"Lovie's not going to go in and jerk him out, though I do have to agree he (Grossman) is pulling rhe other players down because he's not carrying his share."
Professional Handicappers League member Bill Fishman concurs, though he believes Smith will drag the process out, if only for appearances sake.
"I feel Coach Smith has to just sit back and reevaluate things," Fishman said.
"When he does, I feel he stays with Grossman because he does have an upside.
"Griese is not the answer, though I may be wrong.
"It's just my opinion."
Jimmy Boyd thinks it's time for Griese to take charge.
"If you're Lovie, you have to go to Griese at this point," Boyd said.
"I just don't see Grossman playing with any confidence.
"I think Griese will at least make better decisions with the football than Rex."
Nebraska PHL member Jerry Johnson sums up things rather succinctly:
"It's time to sit Rex down for a while; he looks like a deer in the headlights."
Many bet shops got slapped with a pair of pushes on Sunday as 6-point choice Indianapolis skipped past Houston 31-24 and the 3-point favorite New York Jets topped Minnesota 31-28.
Jaynes reported some late night losses Saturday hurt the Stratosphere in the colleges.
"UNLV winning wasn't good.
"Alabma and Georgia pretty much was split.
"That's how it has been on Saturday all season.
"Nothing real lopsided, everything fairly balanced."
Virginia upsetting Georgia Tech and Michigan beating Penn State were big wins for Bodog Sportsbook, while the offshore book's bettors did well with Oregon crushing Stanford and Clemson knocking off North Carolina State by 22.
As with its stateside counterparts, Bodog, did very well on the Packers. Players had a nice day with Pittsburgh and Carolina.
The consensus was 8-5-2 overall, though Capt. Hook, as noted, influenced several decisions, depending on location.
