Mine was a Raleigh Chopper bike in 1978 or 1979, my parents said I couldn't have one as it was too expensive and then surprised me with it, I freaked out and burst into tears, I felt like the luckiest child on earth.

Pinky, how right you are, I've lost almost everyone from those happy childhood Christmasses, I suppose we take it all for granted at the time.

Ooh the Atari! And Astro Wars, anyone remember that? I used to get blisters on my thumb trying to beat my older brother's high scores! Happy days!

I think the very best present I ever received was a portable 'take 'n tape' cassette player/radio. It was bright red and had an earphone. You could tape songs right off the radio and I used to love this. I would listen to the radio through the night when I was supposed to be sleeping. It entertained me to no end until my early teens when I made the mistake of dragging it along to the beach and getting sand in it.

I have been given my superb ever present whilst i become in detention center, i become quite screwed up on the time, dealing with a coarse patch, I had a particular chum in there, even however i've got been given her a present, (From the detention center shop) I didnt assume one back as she had no money, yet christmas morning she got here into my cellular and supply me a present wrapped up in lavatory paper (sparkling) and as quickly as I opened it, she had painted me a photo, she had spent an prolonged time on it and used coffee powder and water, it become quite stable it had a sepia result. It ought to have took a great style of attempt because of the fact she had not something in her cellular, so i dont comprehend the place she have been given the stressful board (the stuff she'd painted it on) from as she become on punishment on the time. and for her to locate an option to color, become mind-blowing. It quite meant plenty to me in there. Christmas out right that's in basic terms too comercialised. In there issues quite propose something once you recieve a present.

I did not know it at the time, of course, as I was only 6 years old. My mother and father bought a desk and bookcase set for me. They sanded it, stained it and varnished it. They bought the desk lamp to go on it (long since died) and a globe. I used that desk until I went to college. Then, when I moved out to my own apartment, I took the desk and bookcase with me. I used the desk as a vanity table and the bookcase as an end table. Later, I married, had a child and he used the desk and bookcase set. The desk is my garage, apparently awaiting the grandchild. The son is using the bookcase as a night stand in his condo. (The globe is in a box somewhere in the garage...)
I still can see the desk and bookcase in front of the Christmas tree. It was a symbol then, as it is now, of my growing up. I had my own desk...

The best Christmas present I ever received as a child was when my Aunties Uncles & Cousins from abroad all came home for the holidays.
I think the best present that anyone can have in this world is the family that you love & who loves you back around you!

My second best was one of those old tape recorders and I taped the top 40 every Sunday night at 6.0clock. Also taped top of the pops from the telly. The good old days. Memories eh. 46 year old female

I received a handmade dollhouse, that was a copy of an authentic Victorian Mansion! It came complete with era furniture and costumed dolls.
