It all depends on the jurisdiction of the offense. I work in corrections in Virginia, and I often see inmates from New York and New Jersey violate probation for using marijuana and alcohol. They are used to getting away with it in other states. In Richmond, there is one judge who specializes in revolving door justice and does not hold criminals accountable.

I would like to see the court history of the judge who sentenced Tim Brady. I would not be surprised if that particular judge has given harsher sentences to other criminals, especially persons with drug and theft charges.

Good luck!

Well, I don't HAVE to buy drugs unless I want to, but when I'm minding my own business and this idiot plows into me at 172 mph, I have little choice in the matter. I wonder how you'd feel if he ran over and killed your parents, brother, sister or child...I bet you'd think 10 weeks jailtime wasn't nearly enough. Good enough for him...if he wants to go fast, to go a race track or the Bonneville salt flats. Otherwise, he needs to stay off public highways if he's too frickin' stupid to exercise a little good judgement.

172 mph on a public road is pretty dangerous. 10 weeks is a little excessive though . And most people don't get hurt from doing drugs so using that comparison isn't helping your case
