I don't understand why you are concerned with this..
Flip-flops are comfortable and as long as there is not snow or freezing outside, flip-flops are acceptable
(except at the office of course)
It is still warm enough to wear open shoes.
As a matter of fact I have a pair on now. =)

For some people, these are the most comfortable shoes, and no matter what the season, if its above 60 degrees F, they will wear their open toed sandals. I think that these women are disregarding seasonality and the fact that open toed shoes are inappropriate for the autumn season. Perhaps its not for vanity, and its definitely not for fashion purposes, because fashion dictates that after the weather turns, toes should be covered. Perhaps they simply don't give a damn.
Then again, it all depends on where you live-----if you live in the tropics, then its alright year around, but in places like NY, I wouldn't expect it.

Well, I never heard of flip-flops being a health hazard, but I do think they look silly with fall/winter clothes. I can't imagine any fall fashions requiring flip-flops as footwear. On the other hand, though, there are just a lot of people who have hot feet, and they feel better when their toes are exposed to the chilly air.

The question was are you right or wrong. I'm not sure what your asking but I can tell you that you are wrong for wondering about what other people do. I personally prefer to wear flip flops whenever possible, its not a matter of fashion. For me I simply want to be comfortable and flip flops are comfortable for me if I run to the grocery store I might even be seen wearing my slippers. I will wear flip flops or open toe shoes or closed toe shoes simply because thats me and what I want to wear, I'm not the person to worry about what other people think and I feel you shouldnt be worried about what other people do.

I think it might be because the weather is so mixed up at the moment, because the tweather is much more nicer now than it has been all summer, so its going to take people a while to take it in for real that it realy is winter...!

Yup. Although I wouldn't consider flip-flops to be a fashionable item. Plus they put your back off balance and you can end up with back and leg problems/pain from wearing shoes like these - flat shoes with no support.

you know I'm not really sure?? but I can tell you I don't wear flip flops when it starts getting cold!!! and I don't see how anyone else can! It is just so stupid!! I don't like wear sneakers that much so maybe that is why people wear flip flops cause they are just easy to slip on! but I bought some suede clogs and they are awesome!

i think its just that ppl are in the habbit of putting on summer clothes, and they temporarily forget how 2 dress 4 winter. plus, they may not have bort new boots 4 winter and stuff. all thetre new and fashionable clothes theyve bort ova thee last 6 months are 4 summer, so they dont hav enuf nice winter stuff. its a bit like how i always put a jumper in my bag until like halfway thru spring, wen i realise i dont hav 2 nemor lol.
stupid but tru.
