yes, I did one time...I was out of the dishwasher soap...and I didn't want to do them by hand....Bubbles came pouring out the bottom to my dismay...Several wet towels later, I descided that was probably a very bad idea and never did that again!....I also put it through an extra rinse cycle.

They say never to do this, but recently I was desperate and having read labels before I decided to try. I put about 1 tablespoon of bleach in the dispenser cup and about 1/4 teaspoon of dish soap in and I got sparkeling results. I think the secret is to put just a few drops of dishsoap in. Good luck and don't get carried away with the soap!

Yes, when I was a kid(about 12 or 13). My mom was sick and I was helping out and I put liquid Ivory soap in the dishwasher. What a bubbly mess!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. I had no clue and was poured liquid into the dishwasher. More bubbles than I have ever seen. Wasn't funny then, but I do laugh about it now.

OMG! yes. When I was 15 my best friend and I were cleaning up her parents kitchen and figured the liquid stuff was supposed to go in there. Oops! The entire kitchen looked like a big bubble bath.

not in the dishwasher,but have put it in the dish water,to wash dishes,forgot to get some dish detergent,have used shampoo also to wash dishes with and even soap.

I've heard of the mess this makes. My daughter has done it and told me.
I'm glad to learn from others mistakes cause cleaning that up would be brutal and I'm lazy.
