IN THE UK ITS IMPOSSIBLE!
ALL SINKS AND BATHS HAVE AN OVERFLOW PORT THAT CAN OUTPUT WATER FASTER THAN TAPS CAN SUPPLY IT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE WATER TO REACH THE LIP OF THE BATH.
IF YOU OVER FILL IT AND SIT DOWN QUICKLY HOWEVER THE WATER WILL OVERCOME THE OVERFLOW.

nooo... I haven't but I want to see that. Some sinks have like a hole in the side so it can't overflow but I don't know if bathtubs do. I almost over run my bathtub the other day though, because the drain plug got stuck

Yes and its really fun to clean it up afterwards too!! Turned it on and had to go help a neighbor move a desk into their house they just bought totally forgot I left it.
Just make sure you dry the floor good so it does not get into the woodwork and under the tub where it can cause the flooring to rot.

I had a roomate who would do that once, It drove me crazy. He'd leave it running until it overflowed, so I'd empty it and he'd freak out.

not with the tub but the bathroom sink. when I was a kid, my brother and I were in an upstairs bathroom washing our hands [ it was at a really nice farmhouse with friends of my mom and dad's]
we were in the dining room eating and the ceiling started to drip. we had forgotten to turn the tap off. we were in "hot water" over that one.lol
they had to replace their whole ceiling!

Once...I felt really stupid
But you know, it is one of the coolest things to see until you realize that it has to be cleaned up. It ruins all the aspects of having a nice relaxing bath.

Yes, several times and what a disaster it created! I had to get new flooring in the bathroom which was carpeted!

Yes, once I think? And, when you go to pull the plug, the displacement causes a little more spillage. :) lol
