I've tried mineral spirits - with a lot of rubbing the glue comes off, but the odors are horrible. I have an adhesive remover -although it doesn't damage the finish, you have to leave it sit for 30 minutes and again the smell is unbearable.
Anything I can use that WON'T make me feel sick and won't damage the floors?

Go to a hardware store maybe they have something to use without damaging your floor.

tyr freezing it, with a ice cube, hole it on a area for 2 min, then see if it will peel up,
