Minutemen, ROTC, and military recruiters are allowed to be violently run off campus. But, Mahmoud, a terrorism supporter responsible for thousands of deaths, is allowed to spread his propaganda un-opposed. Even worse, they've been quoted as saying if Hitler were still alive, he'd be allowed to speak too.
Is Columbia really saying that our OWN soldiers are the terrorists?
Should Columbia be sued for free speech violations the next time they run a military official off campus?
Since when is a foreign terrorist allowed basic citizenship rights, especially rights that they won't afford our OWN MILITARY?

I really don't know what to say to all this. I am totally appalled that this creature is here in our country, talking to our youth, on our own college campus. If I were a parent, paying tuition to Columbia for a student, I would yank that student out of that place so fast no one would see him leave. I'm sorry, I really can't say anything about this, or I would begin a rant that would make all previous rants on this site look like sane debate. I cannot be civil about this.

I seen the 60 minutes interview with him. Ahmadinejad is a sneaky little beady eye'd rat. He's got some real big kahunas to come to america in the first place.
He is friends with Hugo Chavez as well. And Chavez was allowed in and out of this country, of course with slight delays hehehehe.
I'm sure there will be some people there to give ahmadinejad the warm welcome he deserves.
I don't know much about columbia, but it sounds like a very liberal place. Going to have to read about the school board of directors for that place and see where they have ties to.

Did you not see they would even invite Hitler. I do think we should be able to challenge leaders of pariah nations like Iran but with his part in the 79/80 Iranian hostage crisis I think he belongs in jail not on a speaking junket to the US. I do have a problem with the 9-11 families wanting to meet with him, do they not see that Iran has been a sponsor of terrorism worldwide and even if not involved in the 9-11 disaster, all terrorists take a toll on us as a nation and we should oppose it all.

It is certainly disingenuous of Columbia to prevent ROTC from speaking and making its case on campus, yet Columbia will permit Ahmadinejad to have a forum to spew his propaganda and Columbia saya they would have given Adolf Hitler a forum to spew his propaganda.
It appears to me that the decision making process currently in place at Columbia is questionable at best

Columbia is a private college not a state college and as such they have every right to invite who they wish to speak. I have been listening to his speech and would take issue with your comment about him being un-opposed. Several in attendance, including the president of Columbia, has spoke in opposition to him. He has done something that even our own president has never done. Visit a college campus and answered open questions. Bush only does this on his so-called town meetings with the questions being submitted before hand and editted or being ignored if they are to controversial.

The largest recruitment in the country is on 125th St. and Columbia's main gates are on 116th St. It's not far to get to a recruiter.
The policy happened due to anti-Vietnam protests and was never readdressed afterwords.

Are we fighting for the right of free speech or not?
Oops, I forgot there is a Republican sponsoered bill wending its way through congress condemning liberal free speech.
Maybe the students complained of recrtuiting efforts by the military and para military groups. Hate speech is illegal even if it is popular.
Why shouldn't we hear the comments of the leader of the next country on Bush's invasion list.
Didn't the Pres of the U. vow to personally oppose his views?
What are you really scared of?

The thing that bugs me the most is that you know they think it makes them cool they will wear it like a badge of honor.
guess I am just glad I am not going to it. I might be the next story you read about someone getting tased, but it would be so worth it. so worth it.

Calm down, then look at movies about the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, try to memorize reports of abuse of prisoners at the Abu Gharib prison, and watch the movie about US troops throwing stones at a wounded dog in Iraq, giggling while doing this "heroic" thing, and maybe then you will have a more objective perspective. It is healthy to listen, for a change, to what the other side (even though "Other Side" is also a code name for the Devil) has to say-not always, but sometimes. Besides, the world is sick and tired of politicians with the political weapon of comparing anybody they don't agree with to Hitler.

They are on the far lefts side and that is not the American mainstream side. They hope to change America from with in to a radical left wing agenda that is funded by Soros' through MoveOn.org and now adopted by the DNC.
