I don't mean it as a slang term for an older woman on the prowl either jokers. I am talking about a real feline cougar. THere is one moving up and down the milk river here and I heard it scream last night. It is very eerie.

Scary scream isn't it? It sounds like some woman being murdered off in the woods, doesn't it? The only omen that I can think of is that something's gonna die and become dinner. LOL I AM sure that there are a lot of Native traditions that ascribe certain oems to hearing all sorts of critters and seeing them as well.

Human mind seeks drama, however there is a lot more than what you know and what you see, the screaming is right at its own place, why are you getting disturbed, you stay in your world. As far as the screaming is concerned... it had to come out in someway or other if you are still you can understand it, you cannot explain it but you can understand it, you cannot think of it but you can understand it, you cannot try to know about it but you already know it. What happened to you the same thing might have happened to the spirit too.

If there is, I've never heard of it. My great grandma firmly believed the one about 'if a bird flies into your window, and dies then someone you love will die soon', also that everything good or bad always happens in threes, and that seeing an albino squirrel was good luck. I agree with the others though....keep your pets and small children indoors.

If there's a late calving or lambing it could be the blood smell. Ten cents to a dollar someone has already put a bullet in her.
