A good friend of mine from Iraq now living in Canada told me a joke the other day: Question: Whats worse than Suddam? Answer: What came after him.
when will more people be human? When will God make things right, in all the world?
To the one above me,
Did you know that last month alone more than 1,800 innocent civilians were killed?
Please Jim Sock if you could give me your source I would be very interested in reading it. Thanx.

I think and polls suggest the Iraqi people have given up on hoping for Americans to make things better. The blackwater gang probably was the final straw.
They are very much behaving like and worse than the former Saddam clan.
I don't think Iraqi's can seriously be expected to make a difference between soldiers and private contractors and that's a shame also for those soldiers.
This also makes the recent higher approval of the Iraqi people for attacks on American targets more understandable.
Being randomly blown up by al quaida or randomly shot at by insurgents or Americans.I think to Iraqi's it's all the same.Except you are right the US came to bring freedom and democracy. They promised things. They raised expectations.
It's a true disgrace

OK, OK Guys. Iraq under Saddam wasn't good. Too bad the US propped him up for almost 30 and had advisers on the ground during the invasion of Iran with satellite data to keep a 24 hour watch on the war. Saddam use poison gas killing about 3000 Iranian soldiers. The US had to know about it but continued to back Saddam. The US here is complicit in two war crimes - war of aggression on Iran, use of chemical weapons.
gabrielav -- good points. The US doesn't like to hire people to do work in their own country ever. They want to look good, claim huge amounts of help money paid out and recovering it by over paying American companies to do the work. They rarely give a darn if the people in that country need work.
From Defence Link--
"Under the law of war, Norton explained, civilians near legitimate military targets might regretfully become casualties during an attack. Yet, U.S. and coalition officials "took a much more restrictive interpretation" of the law of war during the planning of military air strikes in Iraq, Norton said. "
This is an outright lie. Bombs have been killing and maiming thousands og Iraqi civilians that is why there are so many dead. The rule of war is correct but the rule of war has not been followed. Here is one example:
When searching for Saddam a report came in to the military that gave "suspicion" that Saddam was visiting a certain restarant. So the restarant was bombed by the US and the diners (women, children, fathers) were killed. Saddam had not been there.
Actually it doesn't matter that Saddam was or was not there. This was a criminal act in two ways. There was no reguard for the civilians lives as was stated in the rule of law just above. It was an assasination attempt on Saddam. Even he deserves his day in court that he eventually got.
Also from Defence Link --
"It's been three years since Saddam Hussein's regime ended with the liberation of Baghdad by U.S. and coalition military forces on April 9, 2003, now named Iraqi Freedom Day. Since then, Iraq's citizens have elected a democratic government and are working with U.S. and coalition allies in suppressing a lingering insurgency fueled by resentful leftover Saddamists and al Qaeda terrorists."
It is untrue that Iraq was 'liberated".

The following is very important and especially so to all those Americans who seem to believe all Iraqis are no good. Sad to say that this 'election' seems very 'Bush like' considering the suspitions of the vote results in Florida.
It is absolutely insane that in war torn Iraq which is consumed with violence we do not have people in place from various nations to see that the vote is fair.
""That means you don't have an independent voice that can really report credibly on the quality of the election -- in a context where there are already extremely difficult circumstances and doubts about the process," said David Carroll of the Carter Center, who was an observer in the Palestinian elections. Among those doubts are whether the insurgents will succeed in keeping people away from polling places with threats of violence and whether the minority Sunnis will participate in sufficient numbers for the balloting to be called successful."

You know, this administration has placed us in a damned if we do and damned if we don't situation.
How about bringing the army home to defend us where it is supposed to be doing that job.
Yes,I do believe that we broke it and on us should fall the burden(and the price! -what fun, more tax $$-) of fixing it. How about a largely Iraqui labor force headed by Iraqui technicians and engineers(they do have highly trained people, you know). We can pay for the damages but they could do the work. BTW,it is shameful that we have not restored electricity and running water to a large part of Bagdhad yet.
Our armed forces are not the Peace Corps. Bring them home.

We've actually left them ahead in a way. Look at every other Arab nation (except Saudi) and they are all killing each other, turning their cities into ruins, it's a national and ethnic past time with them. Hell, I say we pull out and let them have at it. If we ain't there to shoot at they will just be shooting at each other again, the way it should be.

Oh they not only expect it, it probably has already been promised to them. You can bet after spending hundreds of billions of dollars supplying them with a strong defensive army and police force we will most likely spend billions more to help them rebuild.
Of course you know where the money for that is going to come from don't you?
Hell it wouldn't surprise me, with the way things are going in the U.S. right now, if we just gave all of them honorary citizenship to the USA. Send them a Passport free of charge.

IRAQUIES, ARABIC NATIONS and everyone who has a DROP of HUMAN BLOOD in his BODY long for converting IRAQ into A HUGE COLOCAUST, much bigger extention than AUSCHWITZ for the MERCANY AMERICAN TROOPS. BE NICE TO AMERICA or will BRING DEMOCRACY to YOUR COUNTRY. SUCKER´S DEMOCRACY is INCRUSTING DICATORSHIP ARAB LEADERS INTO THE HEART OF THE ARABIC NATIONS WHO SUFFER FROM THE MERMITTED INJUSTICE OF THE AMERICAN RATS OF DRAINGES. I REMEMBER that FOR THE AMERICAN TROOPS. ARAB NATIONS WORSHIP SADDAM who was the only ARABIC PATRIOTIC LEADER AGAINST THE NAZIFASCISTS WHO ARE SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN, JUDAS WHO BETRAYED CHRIST AND SEVENTY TIMES EIGHT HITLER; HESS AND THE DEVILS. DEATH TO AMERICANS WHO ARE PISSING ON THE CROSS AND CHRIST, comitting MASACRES. GENOCIDES, ATRICITIES, ETHNITY CLEANESS, BLOODTHIRSTY VIOLATIONS OF ADOLESCENTS, PROFANATIONS OF DEADS AND CHRIST. THEY HAVE CONVERTIED THE PRISONS INTO SEX SHOPS OR KAMA SUTRA FOR HOMOSEXUAL EXPERIENCES. WHEN THE POWER OF FORCE OVERCOMES THE POWER OF LOVE, THERE WILL NEVER BE PEACE. THE POWER OF FORCE IS FOR THE JUNGLE LAW, WGERE THE AMERICAN "MUST" LIVE WITH MONKEYS ON THE BRANCHES OF TREES AND THEY MAY BRING BACK NEW HUMANIZED GENERATIONS. BISH IS A BURING BUSH AND THE CURTAIN OF SMOKE IS COMING OUT FROM HIS BACK AND THE BACK OF HIS GRANDPARENTS WHO WERE BANKERS AND SERVANTS FOR HITLER. SUCKER BUSH IS SEVENTENTY TIMES NINE CLON OF HITLER. THE SALVES OF IMMORALITY WILL HAVE NO FUTURE, EVEN THEY USE PROGRESS, CIVILIZATION, TECHNOLOGY AS CHRISTIAN INSTRUMENTS OF GENOCIDES

In that case why should we ever leave?
There was no harmony there.
