The answer depends on factors such as mixing. Generally, the temperature is rather uniform, but decreasing slowly with depth. However, there is a phenomenon known as a thermocline, which is an abrupt change in temperature in water that is poorly mixed. I have passed through one while scuba diving in Monterey, California. It was like falling into a pool of very cold water that had come up from the bottom of the Monterey trench.

I would imagine that it decreases...

The farther you are from the surface the more filtered the sunlight is and consequently the temperature is less. The deeper you go the colder it gets.

I hope this helps.
