I personally don't think it is up to the government, but if the parents are able to raise their kids well, then we will have a secure future. However, the current goverment is making it hard for the middle calls & easy for the upper rich classes. So, the rich Bushies will be secure in their future, but the middle class will be the new poverty line, with us paying for all their taxes! Go Bush, Go...please??????

No. These are not the roles of government, in any country. Take care of yourself. Work to secure a future for you children. These are the things a responsible person should do.

Not this kind of government! For the last seven years you have seen one devoted to the super rich, the one percent. It's kind of like an old Revolutionary War cartoon. It had the British government slitting the throat of the goose that laid the golden eggs. The goose was America. Unless our government changes and starts to think in over all terms of the average American who does produce the taxes and profits, same deal.

If by securing a good future, you mean "taxed to death", then yes. The government will make sure that happens.

It is not the government's responsibility to take care of us. We are supposed to grow up and take care of ourselves. The government is supposed to provide a military to protect us from foreign attack and invasions. But the govt is not supposed to set up more and more systems to take care of things such as healthcare. That's up to us to provide. It is out there for the taking. We just need to get it ourselves rather than demanding the government provide it for free and have the upper class pay for it.

No! the idea of democracy is individual freedoms & responibilities. If we take care of ourselves first, then the nation will follow. Relaying on government for everything only results in a welfare state.

PHUCK NO! They are all to busy making themselves their main priority and quenching their thirst for more money and power,as well as concentrating on their own agendas. They are too selfish and self-righteous to care about the rest of us,even though they HAVE the power and ability to do both;care fro us and secure a good future, they choose not to. Thats why its up to us(the general population) to do as best for ourselves(& other "common folk") as we can.

No. All government can do is provide the stable environment for all of that to happen into. How we get that environment and what it looks like is the constant debate between the liberals and the conservatives.

What government? You can dream on it for 100 years, and we'll see. You have lot better chance in heaven than anywhere on earth.
