Philosophy is about finding truth. When you think for yourself, this is where philosophy gets dangerous, but the only people that usually think philosophy is dangerous is people trying to control other people and tell them what they "SHOULD" think. It's called a loss of controlling the mind.

I don't think anyone feels that philosophy, per se, is dangerous. Particular SCHOOLS of philosophy and the beliefs that certain philosophers take as the fundamental tenets of their teachings are another matter.

The laws that govern and give structure to society are based on philosophical and / or theological, beliefs. If we start to question theses beliefs, we threaten everyone invested in the current system.

Because they're afraid to think for themselves. And they're afraid to let others think for themselves. Maybe they're afraid that what they think and believe is wrong.
