the older home i moved into was infested with roaches. they were EVERYWHERE, it was horrible. i put boric acid in the "wet rooms" and lots of roach motels and i also used roach gel. i took off the switch plates in the rooms for that.

after 2 weeks i've seen maybe two. there are a hundreds of dead ones in the cabinents, etc.... which of course i'm going to clean. i'm just wondering, did they make it back to the nest and kill the others? or do they see their dead friends and just hide out for a while? i'm serious. thanks for your help.

Well my friend you have only touched the surface, I would suggest that you purchase some roach bombs, and place one in each room and close the house up and set them off.
Once every 10 days for at least 3 months.
Make sure that you turn off any pilot lights and cover any fish tanks and remove any animals.
Open cabinets, and any closed spaces prior to letting off the bombs.
If you don't want to do this you should can an exterminator, it will take week to kill the unhatched eggs, you have to wait for them to hatch.
Also boric acid is great, yet it generally only kills the ones that traveled through it and not the queen.
So it a long hard job, But if you are willing to stay the coarse, you can win. But after that you will need to continue with preventive steps. Some of the roaches will make it outside and to the neighbors, so they will be back.
Best of Luck!

1. Get all trash out of the house, so there is less for them to eat. You can't leave any dirty dishes in the sink or on tables. 2. Keep outdoors very clean, too. No fruit on the ground, or food trash. 3. Check for places on the outside where roaches can get in, and try to seal those. 4. Open any cupboards where you have food, and empty them one by one and try to get rid of the roaches you find. Clean them well so their is no food crumbs, and no residual oils or smells. Clean the bottom and sides of jars, no spillage near the tops on the outside, either. 5.Keep all food containers tightly closed. Roaches may be able to smell food as well as a bear, at a mile away. 6. I used Roach Motels about 8 years ago, and have not seen but three roaches inside my house since. You will probably want 2 per room where you have the roaches. Check them once a week, or two. I forgot about them, and checked about 1 month later. about 50-60 in each of the two I used, in all sizes. The roaches inside even laid egg cases, and the mini roaches hatched, trapped and died there, too.

They go back to nest. The boric acid clings to them and so it gets on the others. I would use boric acid in all rooms where you can put it so that pets won't get at it. You might also want to look into an outside barrier around your house. Also, you could close it up & bomb to make extra positive sure.

Unfortunately, the roach is the hardest pest to eradicate from ones home. Continue to be diligent. You might want to invest in a box of Combat, if it is available in your area. They eat the bait and bring it back to the nest before they die. Make sure you replace them when they expire.

Keep all food in zip locks.

well it sounds like so far you're doing a good job of getting rid of them. you could try bombing your attic (if you have one) since that would probably be a prime place for them to live undisturbed. that or a basement. you can also try this stuff called Bugs R Done. it's a natuarl citrus bug spray that kills them better than a heavy shoe (seriously). you can spray it around base boards and what not and it's totally safe for pets, kids, food, etc....
