what is your opinion? does adolescence mean a period of crisis and struggle or is it a relatively normal stage of human development and may be a period of crisis depending on the person's history and how his parents treated him and raised him?

That's a very good question!

In your question though I think you have your answer. Its both.

Let me explain:

Without conflict or struggle we don't have the experiences we need in order to face the future.

In adolescence, many do struggle. Our society puts so much pressure on the younger generations. Get an education, get a job, get the experience, be successful. An adolescent goes from child to adult all at once and the transition from one to another is awefully tough because our society does not prepare the individual for it.

In our world view (the US and some other countries) this struggle is relatively normal. What's the purpose? Simple, its to help us grow faster as individuals. To better the lives of ourselves and that of other people (idealistically).

Perhaps, to better prepare our teenage generation for such a transition, an anthropology/sociology course in high school to show many world views around the world of people their age *might* help;

It's both... It's a stage of conflict, crisis, and struggle... AND it's a normal stage of development.

If childhood is a era of conflict, disaster and warfare as all of us are conscious of it to be; does no longer that make the conflict, disaster and warfare a typical degree of human progression? I see no reason in any respect why those 2 themes are on an identical time unique.

it's all of the above... it is a period of crisis, conflict and struggle... which is relatively normal since most people experience it.
