and evironmental friendly way to get rid of the water stain surrounding my kitchen faucet base? it's like a nasty dark ring around the base, it is hard to get to and impposible to scrub??

If it is hard water, soak a rag with white vinegar and wrap it around the affected fixture. Let it set for a while for the vinegar to dissolve the lime, then rinse and dry.

To avoid future stains, repair or replace all leaking fixtures and keep the area dry dry dry.

Try an old toothbrush or steel wool (only if your sink is stainless) and CLR or another hard-water deposit cleaner.

Lysol spray will work great.
