I have an emachines t5224 pc that had onboard video. It stopped working. I bought a new video card. My 945g mobo won't recognize the new card in the pci xpress16 slot since I can't get the BIOS screen to come up and change the preferences. I've tried resetting th CMOS and can't find a jumper (there isn't one i don't think) for this purpose. Is there ANY OTHER WAY possible? I'd rather not have to buy a whole new motherboard!

My onboard video doesn't work. Therefore nothing comes on the screen. I did pull the battery, chief.

You don't need to jumper the cmos if you pull the battery chief.

If your onboard video does not work still with the card removed after pulling the battery then I have grave doubts about the health of your motherboard.

You shouldn't have to make any changes in the BIOS to get your new graphic card to work instead of the integrated on-board video. The board should detect it automatically.

Have you tried plugging your monitor into another system to see if it could be the problem?

** Edit **
Once the PCI-e16x video card is placed into the motherboard it will be the active video output for the system. You don't need to change the BIOS. Just hook your cable to the card's output and all should be well as long as you don't have any other problems. If you have done that, then you likely have one of the following problems:
- Video cable is bad
- Video display is bad
- Motherboard is bad
- Video card not inserted properly (see your card instructions to see if it requires a dedicated power connection....mainly for high end video cards)
- Inadequate power supply to handle the new card (I'd expect the card to work but the system to be unstable)
