Either for medical purpose or others? What is your stand on the issue?

it may as well, it would cut down on a lot of crime and overcrowded jails. i don't see a reason for it to be criminalized unless someone is driving while doing it. it makes people settle down and not get all hyped up. who would smoke marijuana and then go out and kill someone, or do some terribly dangerous crime? i don't think many would as it makes people settle down.
legalize it for all situations and purposes. there would be a ton of good that would come out of it.

This has been an ongoing issue for a very long time. I definitely think it should be legal, both medicinal and recreational. First of all alcohol is legal and you don't see people smoking a joint then driving down the wrong side of the highway. The positive effects far outway the negative effects of marie jane. The only down side is that you get lazy and may accept being boring, even though i consider this one of pots greatest accomplishments. The reason why it will not be legalized is because the people that vote are old and stuck in the mindset that it is a dangerous and gateway drug, even though alcohol is the number 1 gateway drug. Also it will not be legalized because of the war on drugs, most of the money funded to this organization is alotted to prevent the spread of marijuanna, so if it was legalized then a huge portion of the budget would be lost. I would think that if it was legalized then the government could revamp some of the money by having a pot tax like a cigarette tax.

To atomic angel, your neighbors did not go crazy because of pot, trust me and any other educated people on the subject it does not affect people like that. I would ask your parents to explain meth to you because that is probably what your neighbors were on. And the 35 yr old loser living with his parents still, that would of happend with or without the weed. You are to young and have probably never even tried it, so you are only answering using what your parents or drug officers have told you, which in my experience is never the truth.

Thats a tougher question than you realize. Like cigarettes, which we are almost making illegal, marijuanna is a severe cancer cause.

I lost a relative to lung cancer, spitting up blood from his lungs worse day by day, who only smoked marijuanna .

Ironically, marijuanna IS proscribed (like other illegal drugs) for serious medical purposes.

There was a time when alcohol as made illegal by "prohibition" laws, so don't say marijuanna is no worse than booze. Both ruin lives and kill!!!

The only argument for legalization is that we can't stop it's use anyway, so take the criminal's chance to profit away from them.

If you buy that argument, why not legalize all drugs, gambling and prostitution? It would cut out the criminal profiteers, and maybe create a tax source instead.

But what will unemployed criminals do then? Become missionaries to "darkest Africa"??? No!

They'd be forced to worse crimes, kidnapping, break-ins, theft and violent crimes.

Instead of jail, we should give 'em guns and drop them off in Iraq.

Bright ideas like this backfire in your face! Can't you see how "winning" a war in Iraq backfired on America?!?

Legalizing marijuanna will backfire in some way ... like marijuanna DUI deaths, etc.

Take a Valium and/or a Viagra instead.

They are legal!

I think it should be deciminalized for medical use and not just prescription, old age migraine headaches, insomnia and so on, however the penalties for use when driving or any other time it would endanger the user or others should be 10x that of drinking and alcohol offences should be 20x more stringent than they are now, Iread that The guy from Dallas (forget his name) and one of Crosby Still and Nash Got ahead of the line to get new Livers because of celebrity status and the were drinking the day the got home.

In some countries if you fail the blodtest ther's no trial you go right to prison if you're driving and if you are in an accident and someone gets killed, lethal injection or natural life, no rehab, no blame it on my bad childhood.

I like that, however on the main subject de-criminalize with tough restrictions, the prisons should not be overcrowde and let murderers out early to house potheads, personally I wuld never use it or drink, but if it helps people why not some of the phamecuticals sre killing peopel anyway, like vioxx and many others. If granpa can smoke a joint and keep his MS under control, I'm ok with it.

There is no proof of weed causing cancer so I don't know what these imbeciles are talking about. Yes it should be legal unless they can prove it is dangerous. The problem is your government needs you to be a productive citizen so they can profit off of you. If you smoke weed then this is less likely to happen, therefore they have made it illegal. I don't smoke weed myself, I can't stand the stuff but right is right. there should not be people telling you what you can and can't smoke with your own body.. That just does not make sense. People are stupid though, they actually take listen to the government.

Yes, I do. I don't smoke it because I can't stand the smell but I think there are way worse things that people could be doing than smoking pot. A lot of money, time and effort is wasted by cops arresting and charging people for small amounts of a fairly harmless drug.

Luckily, pot is decriminalized in Canada and in certain provinces most cops don't care and won't do anything to people with it. But I know it's an issue in the US.

Yes!
The controversy and misinformation persists around this relatively safe and non-toxic herb. The World Health Organization, in a 1998 study, stated that the risks from cannabis use were unlikely to seriously compare to the public health risks of the legal drugs, alcohol and tobacco. And despite thousands of years of human consumption, not one death has been directly attributed to cannabis use...........so why not????

I think I'd rather be on the road with someone who just smoked a big fatty than with someone who just finished a fifth of Southern Comfort.

It lowers your immune system. It also causes scizofrenia and can cause cancer aswel. It eventually stops working with often makes people go onto harder drugs. It makes you lazy and tired and affects your basic judgment. It also affects your motor skills so it isnt recomended to drive for a few hours after
