Sanded it down repainted it got a new mattress and redid all the fabric around it. The problem at hand is that she sister was born a blue baby and they put her in it and took pictures. Now I really do not have a problem because everything is new and redone!! My fiance on the other hand is flipping out and said it is not coming to our house!! help what would you do

You should talk to your finance about a compromise. Take the bassinet as a gift and be great full, but if he isn't comfortable putting your little one in it (for any reason) then you shouldn't. He may come around, or he may not, regardless, it definitely doesn't fall within a time frame of FDA safety standards so it's probably better just to have it as an heirloom.

First of all, so called Blue Babies had a heart defect-nothing contagious. Make sure there is a liner in the bassinet in case some of the old paint is exposed because it might have lead in it. Whatever happened it was probably 80 years ago. Explain to your fiance that you do not want to hurt your friend's feelings. If he still doesn't want the baby in it, use it to attractively display stuffed animals, but he is being unreasonable.

You mean her sister was put dead in the bassinet? Well, since it was redone and it is been couple of years, I probably wouldn't have any problem with it. I am sure it looks really nice, my grandma gave my mom an old bassinet when I was born and it was gorgeous...

I am sure that it is nothing to be worried about!! I think that something must have been wrong with the baby. You's isn't going to "turn blue" just because it is in the bassinet.
Good luck and if you decide you can't use it, we have one you can borrow.

Just talk to your fiance. It's understandable to be a little freaked out about it but it's a free bassinet, and she put a lot of hard work into it to make it nice.

Well, I think that you should either buck up and explain to the nice lady, or just accept it as a gift. Set it in a corner in the front room or den Like a day bed.
You don't have to use it, but it's there for appearance.
And really, your boy friend need to come to reality, just because a still born was placed in it for pictures in no way mean that anything is going to happen to your child.
Best of Luck!

A baby spends so little time in the bassinet that you would be crazy to pass up a freebie.

It is a little wierd but i agree with you its redone and she put a lot of work into a would probablly be very disapointed if you declined it. You just have to find a way to convince your fiance its ok. Good Luck

I would also be worried about lead paint. I personally agree with you fiance, I would be a bit creeped out by my baby sleeping in a dead baby bassinet. So I would indulge him.
