Electric guitar - plug them into an amp and the parents will be begging the child to turn it down. Also the strings break easily and are dangerous - i am 15 and cut myself on a guitar strip once.

Why was my first thought "violin"? I was bought my first violin when I was about 4 - didn't do anyone any harm. I guess maybe I was thinking of all of those squeaks you can get out of a violin.

Trombone, it is so loud and annoying,plus it collects spit that has to be emptied (cringe!). It is also heavy and akward to carry.
