I believe the mind may have the power to move objects. The question is ...how large an object. At best we may train our brains to move very small objects, but I don't see moving a car only using the power of the mind.
I really question whether we are capable of this power at all! ...and illusionists can 'muddy the waters' on this topic with their showmanship.

my favorite quote,
"everyone that believes in telekinesis, raise my hand"
people seem to be able to control when a random event will happen, such as a radioactive decay or a bit of noise in an electric circuit.
but if telekinesis does happen with a few people in the past only, then I suspect that they are not really entirely human, but something else.

Unfortunately, and despite intense efforts by some dedicated believers in the paranormal, the best scientific evidence that exists today for PK is merely some inconclusive and irreproducable experiments which have been criticized as pathological science, generally dismissed as shoddy work and subsequently ignored by science. See the link below for thoroughly documented essay on the subject. In specific, look at the Rhine Institute and the PEAR studies.

As shown in movies and television - it's false. As a way of controlling immediate environment, believe it or not, true. For example, some people are able to warm their body temperature and the temperature directly around them without any fever. Other than the few small movements in temperature, (and the odd spontaneous combustion), I'm afraid I am not a believer.

Telekinesis is now called psychokinesis (PK) in the scientific research literature. While no one can levitate their friend, start fires or throw cars the ability has been demonstrated to a statistically significant degree. It was demonstrated by Rhine Research Center (formerly at Duke University) in the 1930's. (link below) on dice (causing more of one number to come up then would appear by chance)
It was most recently demonstrated by Princeton University through a program called PEAR (link below) for the past 27 years with random number generators.
It was also demonstrated by physicist Helmut Schmidt with radioactive decaying particles his work and the work of other can be found at the web page for the Parapsychological Association (link below).
Skeptics dismiss or attack this work but few have criticisms that are valid enough to get published in peer reviewed science journals where the actual research is published.
This ability was also shown in the former soviet union by Nina Kulgina. Her demonstrations are dismissed by skeptics that have yet to replicate her performance under controlled laboratory conditions while being observed by scientist.
Daniel Dunglas (D.D.) Home was said to levitate and play musical instruments without touching them. He was never caught as a fraud. However, controls were poor in his day and he may have simply been the greatest magician who has ever lived.

The answer will only come from within yourself. If you think it's true, than it is. If you think it's false, than it is. Subjects concerning the realm of parapsychology is never black or white/ yes or no. It has shades of grey. This is because it involves the consciousness and the subconscious - elements which can provide illusion or reality to the viewer.

I think it's the result of wishful and magical thinking. There is not a single person who has demonstrated their ability to practice it in a controlled environment.

Its done through the art of illusion.
FAKE
Nobody has ever demonstrated it under controlled laboratory conditions which would prove it was real.
