Sell stuff you don't need / don't use on eBay or one of the other auction sites.

Cut down on the money you're spending from day to day is a good start. If you look carefully at where your money is going, you'll probably see things you can change...e.g. shop in Lidl instead of Tesco, don't go out so much, bring your own sandwiches into work.

If you have time left in your week that isn't taken up with overtime, try taking a part-time job in a shop etc.

Take a look around your house. There are probably things there that you don't want but can sell on Ebay.

You could try placing a few bets but that's a mug's game if you don't know what you're doing.

sell some stuff on ebay
do some babysitting
do people's ironing
do people's cleaning
wash cars
do odd jobs (if you can do diy)
deliver newspapers
if you are good at doing hair and make up offer to do this for people
don't buy takeaways and take a packed lunch to work/school
don't buy a paper or magazine each day
use the car as little as possible
don't go out! (apart from to work/school!)
make some cards and sell them on

if you do all the above and work really hard at it for the next month i think you should be able to get £500 - you need £125 a week so that is do-able

Hey Doug

Garaunteed, if you can find a few reliable, honest people what you do is start a pyramid of people who contribute 'x' number of pounds per month, and you withdraw 1st.
However i think it's admirable you are working so hard to realise a short term goal, however aside of working hard, sometimes what deprives us of our goals is we don't always work 'smart'.
Best of all is your loan is tax free, but you need to be commited to providing your associates their day in the sun, which i'm sure you will be.
I believe you will get your holiday, however it may not come when you want it to.

Good luck

find a date on the country you want to go on holiday and let this person pay for your flight and stay. It worked for me 3 times!
