The Federal Gvmt shouldn't be much larger than the Department of Defence and a very small State Department.

The State Gvmts and private sector should do all the other tasks the federal gvmt does now.

We shouldn't be a gvmt of National Socialist. This didn't work in the 1920's - 1940's, and won't work again if given a second chance.

The U.S. Government should STOP treating the citizens of the United States like children who aren't capable of making decisions for themselves, or taking care of themselves, or planning for their own futures. Big government needs to leave John and Jane Q. Public alone to the greatest degree possible and place the responsibilities for things like education, livelihood, health care, and retirement where they belong -- ON THE INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS. It's not the job of government to take care of us. Government is supposed to be very limited in scope and should only intervene in matters of safety, security, and justice where the entire population is affected. The more power our government has, the less civil liberties we have -- and as our government becomes more powerful we're losing our freedom. March too far down that road and before you know it the U.S.A. will look exactly like the U.S.S.R. That's why we as citizens have to stop saying "The U.S. Government should..." and start taking care of business ourselves.
