i need infromation about England in 1900's...does anyone have a webpage they know of or some facts ?

*Queen Victoria died on January 22, 1901, her funeral cortege took place on February 1, 1901.

*Guglielmo Marconi waited for the first radio signal that was sent across the Atlantic from Poldhu in Cornwall to a hut in Newfoundland on December 12, 1901.

* In 1909, the London Daily Mail offered a prize of 1,000 Pounds to the first aviator to fly the English Channel. A Frenchman, Louis Bleriot, did it on July 25, 1909.

*Suffragette Lucy Burns was imprisoned in Holloway Prison, London in 1909, and was then released after enduring a hunger strike for one week.

* English Antarctic explorer Captain R.F. Scott writes his final entry in his diary Thursday, January 29th 1912, after returning from the South Pole, and before he and his team all perished.
