either carry or would apply to carry an organ donation card. If you don't already - when are you going to get one? it might be too late then.

Here in the US we don't have to get a special "organ donation" card.

When we go to get our drivers license renewed every so many years, you get a new picture and they specifically ask you if you want to be an organ donor (you answer yes or no). And if you choose "yes" then that is marked on the left hand side at the bottom of your drivers license in red, so it's a permanent record and it's encased in plastic and you carry it around with you (so the ER can check for that).

Too late for what?
If you should pass away it's actually up to your relatives who survive you if they will honor your wishes or not, or even give permission if you didn't want that.

I carry one, and have made my wishes well known to my family and friends (doesn't matter if you have the card, the next-of-kin has to give consent for organ and tissue donation). I received a kidney 18 years ago, and will forever thank the donor. When my first husband died, we donated his tissues (organs were not viable), and to this date, about 75 people have received tissue (such as skin, bone, tendons, and heart valves). It's a great comfort to know that something good came from his death.

I am a proud Organ Donor, and my Hubby and I have talked about what organs should be donated and what should happen to us if we pass - Good to get this stuff figured out before it's too late!

I use to carry a donor card but now it's on my driving licence that I wish to donate. I think everyone should do the same.

I have designated that I will be an organ donor in my driver's license. My state does not issue cards specifically for that. I've been an organ donor since I've been a licensed driver.
