Someone told me a new vaccuum cleaner is a bad idea. She already has me. What else could she possibly want?

4th anniversary gift: Traditional=Fruit/flowers. Modern=appliances.
So you could get away with a big bouquet of red roses, and/or a vacuum cleaner. But what does she WANT? Is she a practical lady who'd be thrilled with a new Dyson or Filter Queen?
I would, but I'm a practical person! Give me something to make my life easier, not something I'm going to have to find a place for, then dust for the rest of my life!
The romantic in me would like to be taken to a very nice restaurant for dinner, and given a piece of jewelry! Jewelry is always good! It doesn't have to be super-expensive. A lab-created gemstone is almost as good as the real thing, and costs a lot less. Most women have a favorite gemstone, and after 4 years+, you should know what it is! A gold locket might thrill her, they're all the rage now.
Her favorite perfume is another sure winner, especially if it's a little pricey.
A gift certificate to a spa would thrill some people. How about a couple's massage? Or a night at a nice hotel (one that has room service)?
You want to choose a gift that will tell her you love her more than you did when you married her, and that you value all the hard work she does for you. Some form of pampering will do that. Anything she feels is romantic will win her heart, too.
If money is really tight, buy her a bouquet from the grocery store, and make her dinner.
Buy a cheap bouquet of roses from a road-side vendor. Instead of giving them to her, sprinkle a trail of rose petals to the bathroom, and have a bath waiting for her, with rose petals floating in the water! Get some rose scented soap, shower gel or essential oil to up the scent factor. Scents are very important to women! Add some lit rose-scented candles for ambiance. She'll melt!
I would love for my man to have my car detailed inside and out, and get the maintenance done on it, so I don't have to. A lot of women might not really get the importance of that, but I would love it! It's going to take me a whole weekend to get it all done!
If you are really clueless, and she isn't giving any hints you're picking up (she might, if you pay attention), ask her best friend, sister, mom, etc. If you're afraid they'll blab, ask your mom, sister, or somebody.
Plan something really over-the-top for next year. The big 5 will be very special to her!
Hope I've given you some good ideas. Good luck, and happy anniversary!

Fruit or flowers are the traditional 4th anniversary gift. A weekend away at a bed and breakfast with an afternoon of apple picking would be perfect!

Jewelry always works. A spa gift certificate for a massage for two so you both get pampered. A weekend at a bed & breakfast. An expensive purse if she's into that...a Dior bag was one of my all time best anniversary gifts.
