I haven't heard how everything turned out. Did they ever find them dead or alive? Are they still looking?

no , they closed it down & are making a memorial out of it.
They ran out of places to look.

There were additional cave-ins, which compromised the safety of the rescue team.
That, and the long duration which they have been missing were the reasons that the search was abandoned.

No after the cave in & 3 others were killed they set it aside untill further notice.
