The cheapest may not be the most reliable. I've used scooters and powerchairs for years and had half a dozen different brands.

If you want reliability go with Invacare. They have some less expensive chairs that may work for your mother if she is small and light.

If she is heavy it will cost much more to get a chair that will carry the weight. Pride, Invacare, and Frontier all have heavy duty chairs with enough power to go up ramps and jump curbs.

Stay away from Rascal. They make a cheap low qualilty chair that breaks down frequently and begins to fall apart as soon as you get it. It is also next to impossible to get parts for it or find someone to do the repairs.

If you need a Durable Medical Equipment provider who can get the ball rolling quickly and accomplish the task in just a few days, call the Scooter Store and see if they have an outlet in your area.

If she needs a powerchair - get a prescription - they will act then.

go into Google and do a search I got one from disabled scooters .com good luck and just before you close the deal say I will have it if you knock 5% off it mostly works it did for me good luck

I have a Hoveround, Medicare paid every penny. I love my power chair. I can get out again! I am not trapped inside.
