Wallace was not a "Sir", and yes there are survivors apart from the legend within the Clans (Sex and Marriage were not as we think of them today, "handfasting" was common practice in Scotland upon betrothal and even before from the time one attained sexual maturity, some marriages even arranged at birth. and "proof" of virility and fertility was frequently tested accounting for bars sinister on many armorial bearings.), as well as the Royal line of England, since the Prince of Wales at that time was, shall we say, differently disposed.

[I must acknowledge a most apparent error. After Stirling Bridge a "Knighthood" was conferred. Kings and Knighthoods were hotly contested and disputed from Clan to Clan, the Stuarts once were stewards to a different band. We make of our heroes who and what we will, I considered the "Sir" posthumous, an honour not fitting to an outlaw, the perspective that of a different family history and Scottish heritage, the other a tale written centuries after. The embellishment of Edward III some fancy also innacurately remembered about people entirely true. Yet know there are descendants in those three Clans plus with years of intermarriage and six degrees of difference extant between us all, across continents and islands a line is hard to trace. There are "Wallaces" who could as easily have been his sons as his bothers'. His wife was murdered before the actual marriage, but well after they had been together. The execution certainly was unlike our gassing, electrocution, hanging, or injection if not less barbaric. Family life and public records were also vastly different.]

My dear girl, it is quite patently obvious that William Wallace had an affair with the wife of Edward II and she bore a child by him. Melvin Gibson, the celebrated actor, can trace his family roots right back to this child.
