I want to play dvd's on my computer but it comes up with a message
"Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. Open Display in Control Panel, and then lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. To view the DVD Troubleshooter, click More Information."
Is there a way to fix this without having to install a different dvd player.

Do you have Vista? I get this message as well when I open up Media player, and try to open the movie from there, but if I just let the DVD's auto play feature start, or go thru my computer and then click on the movie on my DVD drive, it will play. Good luck!

if you have the latest, you will have no problem..
download the latest Windows Media Player (version 11) from

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

but this player is for XP Service Pack 2 PCs..

Hi,
Try downloading "DivX" it's free and then use it as your player, this should work.
