What is it that we are supposedly (and questionably) in Iraq for? To give the Iraqi people a Democratic government. What is one of the cornerstones of Democracy? Free speech!!! No matter what you think of the man or his opinions if you believe in democracy than you are a hypocrite if you don't think that he has a right to express them. The people,on the other hand, have every right to disagree with him and protest against him. To not let him speak would be against the very thing that we are spending billions of dollars and sacrificing thousands of lives for. Free speach does not have an American patent.

Public debate is good. Plus, he is speaking at a private university. The right to free speech prevents the government from prohibiting speech. For example, should he be prevented from standing in front of the White House and give a speech? So long as he is in the country legally (and I'm sure Dubbya gave him a Visa) he should be able to say what he wants while he is on private property. Otherwise the government is CENSORING what we can hear or read.

I agree with Karl. The Declaration of Independence states that ALL men are created equal, not just Americans. I really don't think it was a good idea to extend the invitation to him in the first place, but let the man spout his propaganda, it's not going to change my feelings about the guy.

Despite the opinions that many disagree with the idea of free speech is as much one of Western thought as it is American.
Though I would argue with most of what this man would have to say, his opinion should be heard. If only to strengthen out own convictions.

I think we should let him speak. We don't have to agree with him. Here is how I look at it, I'd rather him confirm everything they say about him in the news by him opening his mouth, then just taking the news reporters word for it.
Plus, we don't want to really go to war with Iran anyway, lets try to get some diplomacy here people, we don't want another war!

I think he or anybody else has the right to say whatever they want, however, I would not have invited him to my country to say them. He's a man who stated that he wants to annihilate the people of another country. He should not have been welcomed here.

I'm all for free speech, but it has its limits.
This is a guy who is providing our enemies in Iraq weapons that are killing our soldiers. I think its a disgrace to even let him in this country. He's a propogandist for terrorism.
